Pharmacological Profile & Mechanism of Action
What it is: Prostamax is a synthetic Khavinson tetrapeptide (Lys-Glu-Asp-Pro) specifically targeted at prostatic glandular tissue. It regulates epithelial-stromal cellular crosstalk and modulates androgen receptor co-factor interactions.
How it works: KEDP stabilizes the balance between proliferation and apoptosis in prostatic tissue by modulating androgen receptor co-regulator activity and reducing basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) overexpression in stromal cell cultures. It downregulates TNF-alpha and IL-1beta, normalizes microvascular tone, and attenuates hyperplastic stromal remodeling.
