What it is: SNAP-8 (Acetyl Octapeptide-3) is an advanced elongation of the hexapeptide Argireline, composed of an 8-amino-acid synthetic sequence (Ac-Glu-Glu-Met-Gln-Arg-Arg-Ala-Asp-NH2) designed for targeted dermatological and tissue repair research.
How it works: SNAP-8 mimics the N-terminal end of SNAP-25, competitively displacing SNAP-25 from the ternary SNARE (Soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor Attachment protein REceptor) complex. By destabilizing the SNARE complex, it inhibits calcium-dependent catecholamine and acetylcholine exocytosis at the neuromuscular junction, attenuating repeated micro-contractions and relaxing muscle-induced skin tension.
