B7-33 is a synthetic 33-amino-acid single-chain functional peptide mimetic derived from the B-chain of human relaxin-2. Unlike native relaxin-2, which signals through both classical and oncogenic pathways, B7-33 selectively activates the RXFP1 receptor to stimulate cyclic AMP and extracellular signal-regulated kinase (pERK) phosphorylation without promoting cell proliferation. This targeted mechanism drives potent anti-fibrotic, vasodilatory, and tissue remodeling actions across cardiac, pulmonary, and renal preclinical models.
