What it is: Melanotan II (MT-2) is a synthetic cyclic lactam heptapeptide analogue of alpha-Melanocyte-Stimulating Hormone (alpha-MSH).

How it works: Unlike Melanotan I, MT-2 is non-selective: it crosses the blood-brain barrier to bind to multiple melanocortin receptors, including MC1R (skin tanning), MC3R/MC4R (appetite suppression and metabolic regulation), and MC4R (sexual arousal and erectile response in the central nervous system).
