Bacteriostatic Water for Injection USP is a sterile, non-pyrogenic aqueous solvent containing 0.9% (9 mg/mL) benzyl alcohol NF as an antimicrobial preservative. Formulated specifically for multi-dose reconstitution and dilution of lyophilized research peptides and proteins, it inhibits microbiological proliferation upon repeated aseptic septum punctures. The solution is prepared with high-purity water for injection, filtered through a 0.22 µm membrane, and packaged in neutral Type I borosilicate glass vials to maintain physicochemical stability and prevent alkaline leaching over standard 28-day laboratory research protocols.
